2.(C) Bullfinch was an English architect. I believe number two is (C) because an inference is you reading between the lines to figure out what the author isn't telling you. The author does state that University of Virginia is in roman style so it can not be (A). The only logical answer left is (C)
3. (C) All spiders build webs. I think (C) is the correct answer because according to the text maybe not all spiders build silk webs but they all do make webs.
4. (B) Quartz is less common than the feldspars. I know the answer is (B) because according to the text they say feldspar is five times more common than quartzs. This means that quartz is less common.

It wouldn’t be C or B because C says cowboys are younger than shepherds but some shepherds are younger than cowboy as well and option B says that shepherd movies were popular before cowboys movies but we don’t know that either just going off of the context they gave us.

3. C. I say this because in the passage it states that not all spiders build webs still use their silk for other purposes. Which immediately means that all spiders use silk.
4. B. I say B because it says in the passage it says the feldspars as a group are more abundant than quartz nevertheless since we’re going off of the context in the passage and they use feldspars plural, and feldspars as a whole group are more abundant than quartz which means the answer is B.
5. A. In the passage the author states that penmanship has nothing to do with character using Washington, Roosevelt, and Kennedy as examples to support his claim.

ReplyDeleteIn the sentence, it states that shepherds never caught the attention of American filmmakers the way cowboys did. This gives me the idea that since cowboys were most favored by American filmmakers, they are more likely to make more films based on cowboys.
2. A The architecture of the University of Virginia was influenced by the Roman style.
According to the sentence it states that Jefferson preferred the Roman style of architecture,and referenced the University of Virginia. This information can help me infer that the University of Virginia was probably build in Roman style.
3. C Silk is used by all spiders.
According the the sentence "even spiders that do not build webs from silk use it for a variety of purposes", from this text I can infer that even though some spiders do not build webs from silk, they can use the silk in many other ways other than building a web.
4. B Quartz is less common than the feldspars.
In the sentence it states that "but the feldspars as a group are five times more common than quartz." With this quote I can infer that quartz is less common than the feldspars because when feldspars are counted in a group instead of one individual kind they outnumber quartz.

On Question 1, I believe the answer is A because I know more movies about cowboys than shepherds.

On Question 3, I believe the answer is A because not all spiders use silk to spin web, but they all use silk for some purpose.
On Question 4, I believe the answer is B because the combined feldspars are more common then any other mineral in the outer 13-17 kilometers of the crust.
