  1. People of color are being hit the hardest by the Corona virus because African Americans have higher rates of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, asthma, cancer, and obesity.Since people of color are more likely to have a chronic disease ,their immune systems are weaker then other races. Therefore, their immune systems won't be able to fight off Covid-19.According to the text from the website Washington Post,"Nearly 70% of African Americans have died in places like Louisiana and Detroit".Sadly,50% of African American's are expected to have heart disease or diabetes,40% of the black population die from early age and ,19% are uninsured.-BBC News

At least 29 states have released the racial demographics of confirmed Corona virus cases ,death rates .Black communities are also being opened which is a even higher risk of catching Covid-19.Fast food restaurants ,barber shops, nail salons, clubs, trampoline parks, and other irrelevant places have a big impact on people of color.More then 10,000 African Americans have passed from Covid-19.In conclusion, people of color are three times more likely to catch the Corona Virus because the black community has a higher rate of chronic diseases. To a lot of Americans, the racial disparities shown in the number of people dying of Corona virus-related causes have sadly been unsurprising.BLACK LIVES MATTER.

    1. people of color are being hit the hardest by the spread of COVID 19 us as black african americans have the highest possiblity of catching the virus. Most African Americans die from heart failer and brain damage, diabetes, shortness of breath. The virus is still out there you can have a high risk to catch it if you go to a restaurant, fast food place, stores, work, and many more places.

The Govener of Georgia opened the city back up Restaurants, night clubs, fast food places, event places, parks. The govener made it a higher risk for colored people to get it because us as balck people dont like to sit in the house all day every day and do nothing but watch your kids and make sure there doing there work. But as the govener opened back up the city you saw more and more people out the house going places.its not safe to go anywhere yet people still need to be careful wash their hands ,were a mask, wear gloves, sanitiza your hands always.

I feel as the govener needs to close the city back down for at least 2 more months or longer because if we start going out to places we stand close to people we are around alot of people you have to talk to people and someone can spit on your lip while their talking to you and then you lick your lips and you can spread it like that.

    2. People of color is being hit harder with the covid-19 due to heart failer ,high blood pressure, brain damage, diabetes, shortness of breath. Its not right that most of the people with covid-19 is black. The CDC found that 33% of people who've been hospitalized with COVID-19 are African American, yet only 13% of the U.S. population is African American.Among the many (26) states reporting racial data on COVID-19, blacks account for 34% of COVID deaths, according to research from Johns Hopkins University. There are several factors, including some genetic ones, that may make African Americans more vulnerable to COVID-19. Most of the people with covid-19 may have diabetes and more other thing.

The things we eat contributes to certain diseases that weaken our immune systems. As well as, not being precautionary or safe around others. Also, being unsanitary and not washing your hands frequently can cause the virus to easily attack.

  3. The Covid-19 Pandemic is negatively affecting a lot of people around the world. But it the most bad for people of color. The Coronavirus is affecting black people so badly because of many reasons. Like the "essential" stores in the state being opened first. It is likely that these places will be more occupied by people of color. They also have decreased access to healthy foods and lack of transportation. Then, there is discrimination. Some black men think that if they wear a protective face mask in public, they will be racially profiled. Some black people are not able to stay home. They have to go to work to support their families. That makes them more at risk of getting the virus. There are many factors that contribute to black people getting hit the hardest.

Some factors that are contributing to our compromised immune systems are diseases, such as, Diabetes, High blood pressure, Heart Disease, and Obesity. These diseases compromise our immune systems and make us more at risk to the virus. Eating unhealthy foods and lack of exercise is what gives us these diseases and makes us more susceptible. Black people should eat more healthy foods and exercise more to lower their risk.

  4. I believe African Americans are getting hit the hardest by Covid-19 because in regards to our PBL the things we eat contributes to certain diseases that weaken our immune systems. Like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, and high blood pressure. According to the CDC if we have these diseases we are most likely at risk to get Covid-19. As well as to have weakened immune systems which makes it easier for the virus to attack. Therefore, this is one of the main reasons why i believe that Covid-19 is impacting African American population the most.

Some of the factors that are contributing to our compromised immune systems is previous diseases we already have. As well as, not being precautionary or safe around others. Also, being unsanitary and not washing your hands frequently can cause the virus to easily attack.Furthermore, not following the guidelines the CDC has strictly provided to keep us safe. To sum it all up,some of the factors that are contributing to our immune systems are previous diseases, unhealthy eating habits, and not being safe around others.

  5. I believe African Americans are being affected the most by COVID-19 because in regards to our PBL the unhealthy lifestyles we live and the common diseases in our minority group affect the immune system. The Coronavirus is an infectious disease that attacks the immune systems and the lungs. African Americans have high chances of getting diseases. These disease includes heart disease, diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, and high blood pressure. According to the CDC these diseases could possibly give you a high risk of attracting COVID-19. As well as to have weakened immune system which makes it easier for the virus to attach to and attack. This is my evidence as too why African Americans are becoming one of the largest minority groups to become affected by COVID-19.

Some of the factors that are contributing to our compromised immune systems are the diseases already found in our bodies. The immune systems must fight off the diseases or virus currently in our bodies. This makes us a target for the Coronavirus because now the immune system must fight off both diseases and this could possibly weaker the immune system. Another factor is simply being unsanitary and not following rules and regulations. Washing your hands, disinfecting your common surroundings and making sure you stay clean. Also following restrictions such as social distancing. Finally, making healthier life choices. Eating healthier, drinking more water, and exercising regularly can help you contain a strong immune systems. These are some of the factors that are contributing to our compromised immune systems.

High blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease, and cancer are all disease that greatly effect the African American Community in great numbers. . All of these diseases weakens the immune system, the cells and proteins that help your body fight off infection. According to recent studies, African Americans are the highest minority group to most likely catch COVID-19 because of these diseases. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that affects the lungs and respiratory system. Since the immune system is compromised, their bodies are not able to fight off the disease and that is why African Americans are at risk.
Two factors that contribute to our compromised immune systems are the food we eat, and the things that we put into our bodies. Even though diseases such as high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, kidney disease, and lung disease can be passed on genetically, some foods and actions can trigger these diseases. For example, eating too much sugary foods can cause diabetes. Not eating healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, and food that are packed with proteins, not taking daily vitamin supplements can rid the body of the nutrients it needs to strengthen the immune system. Stress can also cause high blood pressure while smoking and or vaping can cause lung disease. Another factor that is contributing to our compromised immune systems is our actions. Not taking the necessary precautions that the government has enforced for the pandemic such as quarantine, wearing a mask when going outside, social distancing, and disinfecting commonly touched areas around the house can increase chances of infection. Finally, not taking care of our bodies physically such as exercising, and taking care of personal hygiene can also contribute to our compromised immune systems.

*The second paragraph starts at two factors

  7. There are many illnesses, us as colored people can get. The question is, why are people of color getting hit the hardest by Covid-19. The reason why colored people are get hit hardest by Covid-19 because, colored African Americans have a higher rate for getting any chronic illnesses. This is what we are doing for our PBL but, with certain chronic illnesses. Also, the factors compromised immune system leads to a highly stressful and exhausting lifestyle.

In conclusion, there are many illnesses, us colored people can get. I have one specific question. Why do colored people get hit the most?

  8. In my opinion colored people are getting hit at higher rates by the Corona virus because a lot of colored people have pre-existing health conditions. Some speculate that pre-existing health conditions are contributing to Covid-19 infections. They also have less access to quality healthcare. Some pre-existing conditions prominent in black communities are diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and asthma which make us more vulnerable to Covid-19 and its potential effects.

People of color are more likely to work jobs that put them at risk such as Service jobs, Cashiers, and nursing. These jobs have put them at bigger risk of getting sick because working those kinds of jobs exposes them to more people who may be sick. Another point is that we tend to live in crowded conditions which helps the virus spread. We live in crowded places like apartments, town houses, and very closed in neighborhoods.

In conclusion this should cause you to be more aware of your health conditions and make healthier decisions so we wont be more vulnerable to getting infectious viruses.

  9. people of color could be getting effected the most by this virus for several reasons. Since the virus has caused many business and companies to shut down due to shelter in places and to stay sanitary. People are loosing their jobs which result in not making money. Some business such as grocery stores were left open to provide us with the food and items we need as we stay inside our homes.
Some colored people still have to work in order to maintain a financially stable environment as well as pay bills. If the proper pre-cautions are not taken when working the person could be at a risk of catching the virus. Since the virus is still spreading, since colored people need jobs in order to keep roofs over their heads as well as food inside their bodies, they have to go out into the public and make extra money knowing what the risks are.
In conclusion, colored people could be effected more by the virus than others, because some may not be financially stable enough to loose their job. Therefor they leave their homes going to work in order, to maintain their house as well as keep food stocked inside the house. Some also have families to feed as well as multiple children. And if you’re not financially stable during the unemployment period you could possibly loose your house and run out of food.

  10. People of color are being affected the most by Covid-19 because people of color are most likely to heart disease, liver disease, and cancer. Also because people of color with chronic problems has weaker immune systems that makes them more likely to catch the virus. According to the news 70 percent of African Americans has died in major cities around the U.S.

I think governor kemp should keep the state closed down for a little longer. If people start coming back outside with no mask the number of cases will rise and more people will die. I hope the governor will re consider his decision.

  11. People of color are affected of Covid-19 because black Americans are more likely to work in service sector jobs, least likely to own a car, and least likely to own their homes. They are therefore more likely to be in close contact with other people, from the ways they travel to the kinds of work they do to the conditions in which they live.
According to the internet it state that"Black people are poorer, more likely to be underemployed, condemned to substandard housing, and given inferior health care because of their race."
